About CHeyenne

I am a fourth-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Cincinnati with a passion for designing practical solutions to real-world problems. Throughout college, I have become involved in organizations such as the Society of Women Engineers and the Biomedical Engineering Society, while also pursuing personal engineering projects and volunteering throughout the Cincinnati community. I enjoy seeking new experiences, meeting new people, and continuously finding opportunities to learn. 

Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, I graduated from Independence High School, where I explored a wide range of interests both inside and outside the classroom. My coursework included STEM and anatomy and physiology, while my extracurricular activities ranged from JROTC to competing on the Girls Lacrosse and Air Rifle teams. Those experiences taught me discipline, teamwork, and adaptability, qualities that continue to shape how I approach engineering today.

I have also had many experiences that are not school-related. I am an apiarist(bee-keeper). Every time I am home I check on the hives to make sure everything is running smoothly. If things aren’t, I have to devise a solution to the problem. Some of these problems are the hives needing more heat or air-circulation, pests in the hive, or low food sources. 

Education opportunities at my house consist of changing the oil in our cars, fixing and replacing lights and their systems, making shelves, or using CNC and laser routers to make signs.
